yesterday i decided to treat myself and buy a new book. i love love love buying random books that i've never heard of..they always end up being the very best! i chose the book, Little Bee by Chris Cleave. i read the first few pages..and so far it's pretty good.

I'm finally putting my foot down and starting a journey towards a better me.

For months now, i've been complaining and constantly thinking negative thoughts about myself. Today is the day where i stop! i'm going to take out the negatives in my life and replace them with positives. i'm going to set goals and accomplish them. no more complaining and a little more doing. i can't wait!

yesterday i spent the day planning my upcoming week and watching movies. later, dannielle and i decided to go to the mall and target to see if there were any deals left over from the black friday sales. i was able to snatch glee the complete first season and elf!!! i saved $36!! today we watched glee all day then decided to go cowboy boots shopping. i found this antique store that sells used boots on google called texas junk company. it's downtown houston, not hard to find...but it was kind of in a sketchy neighborhood downtown..we were a little nervous, but it turned out to be really cool. they had TONS of boots (all used, but still..awesome!) and they were all pretty cheap! unfortunately i was unable to find ones i liked that were my size. i'll probably go there before i leave. they're only open on fridays and saturdays..so i only have four days i can go there...crazy!! i can't believe my time is almost up here. it's bittersweet. i'm so so so excited to see my friends and family, but i'm just getting comfortable here and finally meeting people! hopefully i'll be able to get a job out here, i love it. we'll see where life takes me i guess. well, i better get back to watching glee!

Thanksgiving

even though i was far away from home (and feeling a little home sick) i had a really nice thanksgiving. A family who lives down the street from a ashley, who is also in texas doing student teaching, invited danielle, ashley and i over for thanksgiving dinner. it was SO much fun. it was so nice being with people and being served a fantastic thanksgiving meal. i ate soooo much food....and drank too much wine (haha). after dinner, we played apples to apples, which was hilarious! i haven't laughed that hard in such a long time. i'm so thankful that i met these kind people. it's nice to know more than three people in this giant state.

yesterday i got a package from my mom AND two birthday cards from my little brother and my grandma in the mail. i felt like it was my birthday all over again!

i am just so thankful for every single person who is in my life. i'm so blessed. i hope everyone had a great thanksgiving!

Yesterday was the start of my Thanksgiving break!! No school for a week!! I'm SO excited! My roommate, Danielle, my friend Ashley, and I decided to try and find cheap cowboy boots. We heard of a store called Sam Moon so we went to check it out. HOLY COW. It was AMAZING! It's so big and filled with jewlery, hats, belts, clothes, purses, and hair accessories...and everything is super cheap!! I didn't find my cowboy boots but I did find a cowboy hat!! AND it was cheap! After a long day of shopping, we were invited to one of Ashley's neighbor's house for dinner and Dancing with the Stars. It was SO nice to be in a house and in a family setting. We had the yummiest sandwiches. We also played Farkle (I won!!) and did a country line dance workout video..which I definitely will be buying! They even invited us over for Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday since we don't have any plans! I'm so grateful, because we were planning on doing nothing for Thanksgiving so it will be nice to be with a family.
Today Danielle, Ashley and I are going to explore downtown Houston. It's a little gloomy out today so we're going to check out the Holocaust Museum..because it's FREE! I'm so excited! And we have a friend who lives downtown so we'll be visiting him too! Happy Thanksgiving Break!!

There's a First Time for Everything I Guess..

Today around 9:00 am the principal came on the intercom and announced that we were in lock down. Yep, I experienced my very first real lock down today. It was really scary. Luckily the kids were in computer class so we didn't have to try and keep all our little 2nd graders calm and quiet. My teacher and I sat on the floor and whispered to eachother for about 25 minutes. Apparently this is the second time they had a real lock down; last time a 4th grader brought a beebee gun to school. At the end of the day I found out that there was a house robbery in a neighborhood nearby and the guy was running around with a gun so we went on lock down. Talk about scary! I kept imagining a guy coming up to the window (our blinds are all broken so some weren't down all the way) and shooting us! But everyone is safe so no worries!! Very interesting day to say the least.

Weekend Update

Friday:

On Friday my roommates and I went to the Track Shack and met up with my friend Ashley! The bar is an actual shack in the middle of no where, but it was a lot of fun. I guess one of my roommates didn't think the same, hahaha. I met some other student teachers, which was really nice. I definitely plan on going there this Friday!

Saturday:

Yesterday we decided to do some exploring. Our first stop was Katy Budget Books. Every year they have a giant used books sale. We were lucky enough to take advantage of that. I bought 19 books for only $10!! I'm still really excited about it!! I got some childrens books as well as books for myself! After the bookstore we went to The Galleria. It reminded me a lot of MOA but with less stores and more high end stores, but they did have my affordable stores too. After a little window shopping we stopped to eat at Chilis (yum!), then came home and watched Confessions of a Shopaholic and went to bed early.

Today:

Today I get to work on lesson plans, my resume, and my philosophy of education paper. Woo. SO much fun. I'm excited for this week though, I finally get to start teaching!!

Yay it's friday!! I'm so excited for the weekend! Today I went to Texas Roadhouse for the very first time ever!! My teacher and I went there after school just to chit chat and get to know eachother. It was soooo yummmy!! I'll definitely be going there again. Tonight my roommates and I are meeting up with a girl that I know from Minnesota. We're getting a real Texas experience tonight..we're going to the Track Shack..which apparently is literally a shack with cowboys, country music, and karaoke. I'm excited! Tomorrow we're going to the Galleria in Houston. I'm really excited. My teacher was telling me that there's an ice rink in the mall!! So crazy, but I guess Minnesota has an amusement park and underwater adventures inside the Mall of America...but I'm still really excited to go. All the stores are really high end which means I will not be spending any money, but it'll fun to just walk around and explore Houston! We're also going to a bookstore that apparently has a HUGE sale going on. Hopefully I'll find some books to build my classroom library! and you know, some for myself!

Howdy ya'll! I promised lots of people that I would blog all the time while in Texas! I FINALLY got internet today so this blog post may be a little long. Just a warning.

On the last day of class we took some class pictures! I miss them all so much!!

Wednesday (last week) we jam packed our cars and I mean jam packed our cars, I couldn't see out my back window, and we were on our way. It took about 22 hours. Such a terrible drive. We decided to drive through the night which sucked so much. I almost fell asleep like 3458398402 times while driving..so dangerous. AND it rained the whole way through Oklahoma. I probably got a total of 3 hours of sleep; I think I JUST caught myself up on my sleep the other day. We got here safe and sound and that's all that matters! :) The day we left Minnesota it was probably about 40 degrees out. When I stepped out of my car when we got to Texas, it was probably in the 80's. Such a change! I love it! I even wore shorts on Saturday!

Once we got here we moved in, which probably took about 20 min or so. We have zero furniture; we sleep on air mattresses and sit on the floor while eating dinner and while watching tv. The woman who helped us sign our lease and stuff (Star) was really friendly and drew us a map of places to go including the mall, the bars, the movie theather, etc. It was kind of scary though, she told us to never turn right when leaving our street because it's all bad news...we have to go right to get to our schools. I was a little freaked out!

Friday my roommates and I slept til noon then mosied around and watched Bridesmaids. Later one of my roommates and I went to a carnival that was going on at our new school. I got to meet my teacher and got a small tour of the school. It was pretty fun.

Saturday we decided to do some exploring. We drove around and looked at the million dollar houses which are down the street from me, went shopping, got some food, and got some last minute costume peices. Saturday night we decided to find a bar. We ended up at a bar called Whiskey River. It was SO fun. Such a different atmosphere compared to St. Cloud, MN. Let me tell you, I have never seen so many cowboy hats in my life. AND there was lots of line dancing. We actually ran into Star at the bar so she taught us a really fun line dance.

Monday was day one at my new school. I was super nervous, but it ended up being a really good day. My teacher is amazing!! We get a long really well, which is REALLY good. She's an amazing teacher as well, she is great with her students, which, by the way, are fabulous! We have a really small class of 15 really well behaved students. I'm really excited to be working and growing with them. I get to start teaching next week!! So the schools here in Texas, well Aldine, are SO different than the schools I've been to in Minnesota. When I was getting my tour of the school, I noticed that the hallways are outside! How crazy?! But no worries, there is a roof over the hallways. I also noticed that the kids are so well behaved in the hallways! The kids also only get recess once a week for about 20 min and they don't get to play on a playground because it's not up to code so they get to run around. Oh I forgot to tell you, one of my little boys vomitted at lunch and a little girl who was in line with our class also vomitted...pray that I don't get sick!!

This weekend we plan on exploring Houston. I'll take lots of pictures and definitely keep you updated! Sorry this is so long, but I've been deprived of the interent for over a week..it was bound to happen!

The past few days I've been thinking to myself, "Why on earth did I decide to student teach in Texas?!!?!" In a week from tomorrow, I will be on my way to Texas. It's going to be a super long drive..I'm not looking forward to it. I am beyond nervous. I'm freaking out a little. I only have five days of classes and one day of student teaching (in MN) left. I have SO much to do yet. I have to finish up ALL my huge projects for class AND I have to pack. I can't believe how fast this came up. I seriously feel like I just decided to do this Texas thing...like two years ago. CrAzY. I know everything will be okay and that it'll be a great experience, but I'm just sOoOoOoOo nervous. AHHHH.

I'm super excited/nervous. I CAN'T WAIT to meet my cooperating teacher and my new students. I'm placed in a 2nd grade room, so it'll be tons of fun. But I'm super duper nervous. I've never been away from my family for as long as I'm going to be. I'm also going to miss my besties. Oh well, it's only for a month and a half. It'll fly by. And then, when I get back, I get to graduate!!! :D

Last night I went to the midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt. 2 with some friends. We saw it in 3D which I wasn't too excited about but when we got to the theatre and were handed our glasses..I changed my mind. The 3D glasses were Harry Potter glasses!! Coolest thing ever! Oh. My. Gosh. I can't even tell you how much I loved the movie. It was soooo good, even in 3D. I'm really sad that it's all over. I definitely suggest you go see it.

So I've kind of been mia from the blogger world so here's a quick little polaroid update of what I've been up to!

1 - I bought a new bike! One of the best purchases I've done in awhile. 2 - While on a bike ride I snapped this photo. I love the river! 3&4 - I went to the Taylor Swift concert with some girl friends. It was an AMAZING concert. I love Taylor! Her concerts are always amazing. She puts on such a great show. 5 - I helped Eden celebrate her birthday! 6 - I went to Ribapalooza with my friend Lindsey. It's a small country music festival that, or course, has free ribs (I went later so missed out on the ribs). This is a photo of the band, Bombshel. They are VERY good. You should definitely have a listen.

I haven't blogged in over a week. SORRY! I have been pretttyyyy busy over the last week. I went to Colorado, helped Eden move out [ :( :( :( ] and I've been working. I promised photos from Coloado...so here ya go!

Yesterday I got the book The Dukan Diet in the mail!!! I'm so excited to start this diet. I'm hoping to start it on Monday. I plan on starting to read it tomorrow. Wish me luck!

PS: Also yesterday, I helped my best friend and roommate of three years, move out. :( it was pretty depressing, but she only lives about 10-15 minutes away, so I'll still be seeing her often, hopefully!

Lilacs. I love them. They smell soooo good and they're gorgeous. My roommate was awesome and picked a few this morning. I was so happy when she walked in with them! She also has the cutest little vase that they fit perfect in.

Tomorrow I'm going to Colorado with Eden! I'm super excited. I haven't been there in over a year. I love it there. I can't wait! We will be on our way bright and early tomorrow morning! Stay tuned for pictures!

Rainy Days

It will not stop raining. It has been a gloomy past couple of days, but I kind of like it because I don't have anywhere I need to go and I LOVE the sound of rain, it's so relaxing. There's not much to do around here in the rain so yesterday I was busy watching the Glee marathon on Oxygen and did a little reading. Today I got some Chinese food and deicded on snuggling up on the couch and watching Tangled. Definitely one of my favorite Disney movies. My favorite is the horse...sooooo funny!!

A Day Off

Today I had a day off so I decided to come home for the day and help my mom at her work. She works at my old elementary school as their librarian. It's about the end of their school year so I helped her organize books by number and alphabetical order. It took a looooong time, but we got a good amount finished! It was kind of fun though, I love libraries AND I love organizing. Since I was in town and I'm a poor college student, I went home for a home cooked meal (and I got some leftovers, yay!). It was nice to come home for a little while. I got to read outside for a bit, too because it was nice out. Later I'm going to the mid-night showing of Pirates of the Caribbean with my roomies and a few friends! I haven't gone to a mid-night showing in FOREVER, I'm going to be sooo tired, haha. I hope I don't fall asleep during the movie! I haven't stayed up past 1am in a long time.

OHH I forgot! Tomorrow I'm starting to train at the gas station part of my grocery store where I work! I'm really excited, but super nervous at the same time. It's going to be so busy over there because it's a Friday(movies, gas, cigs, lottery tickets..eek!). Wish me luck!

For 22 years I was a blonde. On Friday I was officially a brunette. I like life as a brunette...it is hard for me and my roomies to get used to, but I needed a change and this was the perfect change. It's growing on me AND my mom likes it!

I also wanted to say happy mother's day to all of you amazing moms out there! And to my mom. You're the best mom anyone could ask for. I don't know what I would do without you. I love you!

Yesterday was my last day of student teaching. My cooperating teacher had a meeting so we had a sub which meant that I got to teach all day! I was super excited because for the past week all I've been doing is observing other teachers and helping my teacher out. It was fun to teach again! My teacher did make it back for the last half an hour so we could all say our good byes. Look what I got:

The cutest bag EVER! All my kids put their thumb prints on the bag and my cooperating teacher made them into flowers. Each flower has the student's name by the flower that has the thumb print. The kids were SOOOO excited for me to get it!

Each student colored themsleves on a person and wrote a sweet message on the back. It's so I can take my class home with me :) They are adorable!

One student was really excited to give me a color sheet he was working on earlier that day. So cute!

My awesome cooperating teacher gave me a gift card to The Fishing Pond which is a teaching store!!!

I had a great experience. I was so close to shedding a tear, but I held them back. I will miss my kids SO MUCH! I got sooo many hugs throughout the day and at the end of the day.

Here's a sneak peak of where I spent my days: I'm sure going to miss it.

The kindergarten classroom next door to us had some duck eggs they were taking care of. On Monday last week, three of the baby ducks hatched. On Tuesday night, the last baby was hatched. He's the small one, but he's growing everyday! They are SO cute. I can't stop visiting them when I'm teaching.

HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SPRING!!

FINALLY it's spring! I'm so excited, I'm soooo over winter, except apparently it's supposed to snow this week (eewwww). I'm excited for alllll the snow to melt, to see the birds again, to see the trees budding, to see the grass turning green, and to see the flowers blooming! Spring is my favorite season ever! Perfect temperatures and everything starts to get pretty again!

Okay, so my "blogging more often" new years goal kind of failed..oops!! Anyway, I'm officially a full time student teacher!! I'm so happy to FINALLY be student teaching, class was waaaayyy too stressful. I'm excited to actually teach and eventually take over the class which will happen in about 6 weeks! It's a step closer to real life, which is a little scary, but I'm SO excited to graduate and have my own classroom!

This year is a big year for me. I start student teaching in March and finish (hopefully) in Texas in the fall. Then I graduate in December! I can't believe college is almost over. It feels like just yesterday I was moving into the dorms as a little freshman. I'm extremely excited/nervous!

The other day I got my student teaching placement! I'm lucky I got placed in St. Cloud becuase I don't have to drive very far, which is super nice! I'm in a kindergarten classroom! At first I was a little iffy about it, I was hoping to get into a 2nd or 3rd grade classroom but after I thought about it, I'm SOOO excited! I love the little ones! I can't wait!

Enough about school, how about a photo update? I think so!

I only have one class today then have to work at the health fair my work is having. After work I'm heading home with Laura to go to the Minnesota State Fair with my family tomorrow!! I'm pumped! I've gone to the fair every year since I was really little. I'm so excited to stuff my face with thing on sticks (especially the pickle on a stick!) yummmmm. I'm also excited to see the butter heads and ride the space needle. wooooo!

Summer is over :( Today was my first of my senior year of college. I think I'm going to love my classes, but they're going to be A LOT of work. I'm really excited to get back into the feild in a couple of months! I'm not excited to be super stressed out again. but....you know what school means?....fall is coming!! I'm super pumped for fall!! Well, I should go to bed, wish me luck on my classes!

Over the weekend, my friends and I went on a camping trip to Lamb's Resort in Schroeder, MN. On our way there, we were able to stop in Duluth for a couple of hours. I love Duluth, it's probably one of my favorite places in Minnesota. I'm going there again in a week with my family! Anywho, camping was a lot of fun. We went to Temperance River and did a little hiking and cliff diving (I jumped off a medium sized cliff--sooo proud of myself!) one day. Another day we went to Grand Marais which happened to be thier North Shore Dragon Boat Festival. It was a lot of fun to see. While we were there, we stopped and got some yummy pizza. After our time in Grand Marais, we went back to Temperance to swim and jump off some more cliffs. On our way home we were able to stop at Gooseberry and go hiking then stop at Betty's Pies. SO GOOD. If you're ever in Minnesota, you have to stop by Betty's Pies in Two Harbors. The pies there are fantastic. I got the strawberry-banana pie. I'm sad to be back, I absolutely love being by the north shore, it's so pretty. I would love to live on Lake Superior someday. I'll leave you with a few photos from the trip.

Mississippi Music Fest

Yesterdy I went to the Mississippi Music Fest on campus. The Missisippi Music Fest is a free music festival complete with free carnival rides. I had a ton of fun. I went on a few rides, I got super dizzy, had a sno cone, made a dream catcher, hung out with some friends and listened to some live music, including Reel Big Fish! It was a lot of fun and Reel Big Fish was realllyyyyy good.

SO much fun!!

Well hello! Long time no talk? Sorry about that! School has been taking up my life! Only one more week of classes then a week of finals then SUMMER! Finally. Yesterday was my last day in the classroom with my first graders :(. It was really hard to say good bye, so that's why I decided to volunteer there during May. I'm excited! I want to get a summer job working with kids SO bad. I'm so sick of the job I have right now.

I have so much stuff to do..I really should be doing them right now, but I don't really want to.

So...How to Train Your Dragon was SO good. Really, I'm going to buy it when it comes out. I wish I could have a pet dragon. On the way back from the movie the clouds looked amazing. I snapped a few photos. One is of the clouds and the other is the sunset. It was so pretty! When we got home we dyed some eggs for Easter. It was fun, it always brings me back.

So today is super windy, so I'm thinkin' it's a good idea to fly a kite. I'm excited. I used to have a princess kite, I'm hoping I still have it somewhere. I'm such a child, hahah. I'll leave you with some photos from yesterday! Have a wonderful Saturday!

My brother and I are going to go see How to Train Your Dragon!! I'm so excited! I want to see it sooo bad. I hope it's good. I kinda want to see it in 3D, but we're going with 2D because it's a little bit cheaper. I'm sure it will still be just as good:) After the movie, we're going to dye eggs!! SO excited! (haha).

Who's happy it's friday?! I AM! I'm super excited to seep in tomorrow AND on Sunday! (the only reason why I'm excited for the weekend, haha) I don't have any exciting plans except work. What are your plans for the weekend?

Yesterday I had a meeting with a rep from Aldine, Texas. I learned a lot about the school district down there. I think I might do it (student teach in Texas). It would be a wonderful experience and I would have a wayyy better chance of getting a job right away than if I were to stay in Minnesota. The only thing is, is it's really expensive to live down there and it's really, really far away from my family and friends. Oh well, I don't have to make a decision right away, but soon.

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, school has been just madness. I started my field experience yesterday. I absolutely love it! I'm in a first grade classroom from 7:45am-10:15am everyday for about a month! I've already learned so much, plus the kids are sooo cute!

On a different note..it's definitely spring!! It makes me so so so happy! I heard on the radio earlier that it's 60 degrees!! FINALLY! I love spring! No more winter jackets:)

Spring Break '10 - My Week

Spring break went by wayyyyy too fast, but I thought you would like to see what I spent my week doing!

Monday:

I spent my whole morning doing homework while Laura and KP sat and played the Sims for SEVEN hours. How lame are they? (I was jealous). Later we ran some errands and rented a movie. We spent that night watching My Life and Liz, The Buried Life, and Where the Wild Things Are. We also ate our weight in chips and salsa/dip. I thought the movie was pretty good..it was really sad which surpised me..I was not expecting that at all. All in all, Monday was decent!

Tuesday:

I woke up at 7:45 to shower and get ready for the day. I went with Laura to Apple Valley (her hometown). She had a dentist appointment at 11:00am and it takes about an hour and a half to get there from here. We left right on time. We stopped at a gas station and got starbucks fraps:) yummmmy! After her dentist appointment we went shopping at Mall of America. I didn't do too much damage being I don't have much money to spend on clothes..but I still had fun just walking around. Later we had dinner with her parents at Perkins. On Tuesdays at Perkins it's kid's day so there was a guy walking around making balloon animals...Laura and I got one:) She got Gary from Sponge Bob and I got a monkey holding a banana...except the banana was wayyy bigger than the monkey (hhaha). After that we went to Caribou and enjoyed some coffee and drew some pictures while all the high school students were studying and doing homework (HAHAHHA). Then we wasted some time at Target then went and saw Valentine's Day, which, by the way, was AMAZING! I loved it, it was so funny and cute! We went to the 10:00pm showing so we were the only people in there..it was fun! We snapped pictures.

OHMYGOSH I totally forgot about how we went thrifting and I FINALLY found a Polaroid camera!!! I've been looking for one for about three years now. I'm so so so so so excited!! Now I just have to get my hands on some film...wish me luck. (thanks ebay!)

Wednesday:

We slept in a little bit then decided to make pumpkin pancakes, which were delicious! Then we went to the Burnsville mall to get a new earring for my Tragus. (!!!!) After that we decided to grab some lunch at the food court. We enjoyed some delicious Chinese food. Yummmm. When we were done, we started our journey back to St. Cloud. It was kind of scary driving back because it was raining. (it’s been raining allllll week) After we got back I took the longest nap everrrrr. Then I decided that I should probably get the NEST that a squirrel made out of my car. Yes, a squirrel made a nest under my hood, on the engine bay. When we got back to the apartment I was standing next to my car then noticed a very angry squirrel looking at me with a very angry face. It was really scary. I had to have KP’s brother get the nest out for me. There were a TON of leaves piled in there, it was kind of funny. Turns out he chewed a couple of wires, so my awesome dad fixed them later that night. After we got the nest out it was time for me to visit my family for the evening. When I got home, mom had dinner ready. She made Wild Rice Soup!! It was very good. Later my younger brother, Justin, and I went to go see When in Rome. It was sooo good, very funny. He loved it too! What a nice brother, going to chick flicks with me:)

Thursday:

I slept in until 10. I haven’t done that in foreverrr. It was nice. I got ready for the day then went grocery shopping with my mom. It was fun to spend some time with her. Then later I went to the doctor for my finger (I jammed it about a month ago and my knuckle sticks on the side) turns out I fractured it and it grew back all funny. I will have the bump for the rest of my life. Oh well. After my appointment I drove back to St. Cloud and hung out with a few friends.

Friday (today):

Today I haven’t done much. I got a good chunk of homework done this morning. Later Laura and I are going to go see Remember Me. It looks really good, I hope it is! Well it’s about that time…to go shopping!!

I love these shows so so so much! They are amazing. I'm so sad the seasons are over. I'm also excited to watch Where The Wild Things Are. Laura, KP, and I rented it and are watching it after our shows. I've heard so many good things about it.

I'm so happy that it's spring break. I had a pretty busy weekend, so it will be nice to not have to worry about anything this week. I'm going to Apple Valley tomorrow with Laura. While we're there we're going to the Mall of America! I'm excited to buy some teacher clothes since I will be starting my field experience in about two weeks. I'm really excited/nervous to start. I get to be in a first grade classroom. It's gonna be fun! I'm super nervous though. THEN on Wednesday we're going to go see Valentine's Day. I can't belive that I haven't seen it yet. Welll I should probably get back to my homework so I can watch my shows and my movie! Have a good night!

Thursday Ramblings

So back in November I had a pretty (un)memorable 21st birthday which involved in me buying a new comforter. I ended up buying a plainjane comforter which I’ve been looking to replace for quite some time now. I’ve had my heart set on this green one from Target, but didn’t have the money at the time. The other day when I was at Target I moseyed on over to the bedding just to check if they still had my comforter…and they didn’t. My heart broke. Today I went on their website and found it! They also have free shipping when you spend $50 or more. Problem: I found a couple others I like. I need help! Which one do you like best?! Reminder: I have a lot of black and white in my room so I NEED color! I just can’t choose!

On another note, I am so unbelievably happy that tomorrow is Friday. I don’t have to work at all this weekend, so I’m really looking forward to it. Tomorrow is a friend from high school’s birthday party. I’m going to help him celebrate with a ton of old and new friends! Then on Saturday I have my holiday party for work. (yes, I know the “holiday” is over..but Coborn’s is just that cool, and it’s the store of the year party too) I still haven’t figured out what I’m going to wear. I’m going shopping Saturday afternoon to hopefully find something nice, preferably a dress. The party is at a fancy Italian restaurant so it’s dress to impress. I’m pretty excited. When Sunday rolls around I’m most likely going to go home for the day and enjoy a home cooked meal. I haven’t been home in like a month. Plus I need to do some laundry.

Today I went to the public library and got a few books (they’re mostly children’s books because I have to read 60 of them for an assignment.) I also borrowed The Lovely Bones from a girl in one of my classes. I’m really pumped to read that one! From the library I got Abel’s Island, Rules, and Knots in my Yo Yo String. I also have to finish Bud, Not Buddy for class. SO much reading, I’m starting to enjoy it. It you are still reading, I thank you! Bedding, weekends, and books seem to be exciting to me. Sorry I haven't written in forever. I've been jam packed with homework. Today was the first day in a very long time I had minor homework. It was nice! I had a pretty boring weekend, I worked. Valentine’s Day was lame, minus the dinner my lovely roommate, Laura, made and kindly let my neighbors and I eat with her and her boyfriend. It was yummy! We had pasta with breadsticks. For dessert we had chocolate cheesecake. It was fantastic! Monday when I was on my way to work, I discovered I had a flat tire, so my dad came up and fixed it for me yesterday, cuz he's the best! Also yesterday my crochet books came in the mail!!!! I'm so so so excited to make cute crochet animals/fruit/cupcakes/zombies! They look a little difficult; I just need a little practice. Life just isn't too exciting these days. Spring break is getting close! I'm not going anywhere exciting, but I'm still looking forward to it because it means SLEEPING IN! Woo! Well I should go to bed, tomorrow is going to be a busy homework filled day! Have a good night!

So, the other day one of my professors told me that my college has a strong student teaching connection with Aldine, TX. So I've been thinking a lot about possibly moving there to do my last semester of student teaching. It's possible I could be offered a job right after student teaching, where as if I were to stay in MN, I probably won't find a job or awhile. This won’t happen until September of 2011, so I have a lot of time to think it over. My professor thinks it's a great idea and wonderful experience. She also told me that I could student teach abroad, in England. How amazing would that be?! So many decisions to make. It's such a hard decision because I know that I should do it, but my whole entire life is here in MN; my friends, my family, etc. I've always said that I will move where ever I need to to get a job, but it all seems a lot more real now that I'm actually having to make a decision so soon.

Life has been so crazy lately. The homework just keeps piling up, but I'm managing, sorta. Classes are going good; they're a lot of fun. I feel like I'm actually learning quite a bit. Next month I get to do a field experience and be in the classroom everyday for a month! I'm pretty excited about that! With all this homework piling up, I haven't made it to gym as often as I would like. I did go yesterday though, it felt good.

Last week I taught myself how to crochet. I ended up making a camera cozy! I'm so very proud of it. I'll post a picture of it later. On Saturday Eden, Laura, and I are hopefully making a trip to Crafts Direct. I plan on buying a butt load of yarn! I'm excited! I can't wait for the weekend to start. I have a lot of homework, but I don't have to work, so it will be nice to have some time to work on it! Oooo I might get my hair cut on Saturday too! I NEED to get my hair cut pronto!

What a gloomy weekend it has been. It has been raining (yes, raining in the middle of Januray) all weekend. Luckily I didn't have any plans except for work and homework. Tonight (in a little less than an hour) Eden, Laura, and I are heading over to our friends' house to watch the big game! (Vikings vs. Saints) If we win, which we will, we will be in the Super Bowl!! It's so so so exciting! GO VIKINGS!

I'm actually excited for a new week. It's supposed to stop raining AND I'm hoping to work out every day.

On Tuesday I have to do a "read aloud" to a group in my class. I decided to read "If You Give a Moose a Muffin." So for the next couple of days, my homework is to practically memorize the book.

Busy, busy, busy

is what I've been lately. It's only two weeks into the semester and I'm already stressed. I've been trying to stay on top of my homework, but it's nearly impossible. I'm going to dedicate this weekend to homework. Luckily my homework isn't dreadfully boring, it's interesting.

Other than homework, life has been pretty good. I've actually motivated myself to go work out. I went to a group fitness class yesterday and went to the gym for two hours today. I felt so good afterwards. I'm hoping to continue with the group fitness class and go to the gym when I can't attend the classes.

This morning when I stepped outside to walk to class, it was freezing. It made me want spring super bad. I'm getting really sick of this cold/freezing rain/gloomy weather. It's so..gloomy. It puts me in a blah mood. I want the sun back! Speaking of sun, I've been craving to watch the O.C. lately. I don't know why I don't watch it..I own the complete series. Maybe this weekend, when I finish my homework.

Lazy Days

I'm so very sorry I haven't written in few days, Ive been pretty busy trying to be as lazy as I could before the semester starts. I've been doing a pretty good job at it. The last couple of days I did a lot of sitting on my butt, knitting and watching movies. I'm really happy that I started knitting again. I finished my very first scarf a couple of days ago. It took me two years to finish, not because it was hard but because I got sick of the colors and didn't think I would ever wear it. Then I decided that as one of my new year's resolutions I'm going to finish what I start. Eden also suggested giving my scarf away, so I decided to give it to her little sister, Haley. I'm really excited to mail it to her!

I'm now on my second scarf. I left my nice scarf I wear to class at home, so I now have motivation to finish this scarf since it's like -10 degrees and class starts on Monday. After I finish this scarf, I'm going to teach myself how to crochet! I'm pretty excited. I found these really cute bows on a fabulous blog that I'm going to try to make after I learn the basics. Enough about lazy days and knitting/crocheting, today Eden and I went to Target just to kill some time and not sit on our butts all day. We ended up buying some super cute pictures for the living room of the apartment. We got them for a fabulous price too! They look amazing in our living room. I also bought an awesome lamp that also looks wonderful! We then went to TJMaxx to kill more time. I ended up buying an owl, yes, an owl. As you read before, I recently became obsessed with owls. Since that day, I see them everywhere I go. When I saw this one at TJMaxx I knew I had to buy it, plus it was only $6.00! You can't beat that! I'm so excited about our purchases, I think it looks so good.

After a day of shopping and cleaning, I watched 500 Days of Summer, which by the way, is an excellent movie. I've watched it twice in the past three days. I'm obsessed with Zooey Deschanel. She is so cute, I just want to be her. I love her voice and her style. I've been listening to She & Him and love it! It's probably going to be a new obsession of mine, including the soundtrack to the movie.

Well, it's about 3 AM and I plan on waking up semi-early tomorrow because I have to start waking up super early for school starting Monday. I'm really dreading this semester, but am excited about it at the same time. I'm not excited to have class everyday at 8 AM (except Wednesdays) but I'm super excited to get into the classroom and work with the little monsters themselves! Anywho, I should go to bed.
